Some exhibitions are changed frequently, reflecting on special national occasions. Some exhibitions are semi-permanent. The Camp Room reflecting the occupation by the American army Hospital during WWII where the injured were brought from France on the trains for treatment.

The Railway display is a working model of how Kington used to be, before it was deemed unviable.  Another display which is semi permanent is the Kington elephant, which was part of a travelling circus in 1932, unfortunately died and buried in a field, later discovered again when houses were being built in 1988.

I was so suprised at the amount of local history this museum has. It’s larger than it looks. Very friendly staff. Worth a visit if you’re in town.
